Sharonville Convention Center Expansion

Two grants for funding the design of the Sharonville Convention Center Expansion were approved by the Hamilton County Commission in February 2007 and the State of Ohio in December 2006. These funds are specifically allocated for design work on the Sharonville Convention Center. In addition to these two grants, the project will be supported by Hamilton County Hotel Tax dollars.
The Convention Center expansion includes a 45,000 sq.ft. renovation of the existing Convention Center. The renovation will include ballroom, meeting rooms, and support services. The 65,700 sq.ft. addition will consist of an exhibit hall, retail space, additional meeting rooms, and support services.
The Sharonville Northern Lights project includes expansion of the Convention Center and a redesign of the Chester Corridor, both to be designed by CDS Associates, Inc. The Sharonville Northern Lights project provides the infrastructure and support to renew growth, development and economic vitality along the Chester Road Corridor, highlighting it as a place of pride for those who live, work and visit Sharonville. The streetscape project is funded by tax increment financing (TIF) dollars and will not increase general taxes nor decrease any public services.

Ongoing construction on I-275 between Winton Road and U.S. 42 will require the following closures the week of June 23-27:

No closures are scheduled for Thursday, July 3 and Friday, July 4.

As spring rolls around, the flowers start to bloom, birds begin to sing and most Hamilton County residents will start to notice the leaves, twigs and other yard debris that tends to be overlooked during the winter months. In order to assist residents with disposal of yard waste, the Hamilton County Solid Waste Management District will re-open its free yard waste drop-off sites on April 1, 2008.
The drop-off sites are open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Locations include: Turpin Farm at 3295 Turpin Lane in Anderson Township, Kuliga Park at 6717 Bridgetown Road in Green Township, and the Rumpke Sanitary Landfill at Struble Road and Colerain Avenue in Colerain Township.
In addition to the normal hours of operation, the Turpin Farm site will also be open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Kuliga Park location will be closed June 10, July 1, July 2, and August 26. All sites will be closed Sunday, April 16.
There are a few regulations for dropping-off yard waste at the sites. Bundled brush and tree branches must be less then four feet in length and 12 inches in diameter and cannot exceed 75 pounds in weight. The yard waste must be brought in containers, brown paper bags are preferred and all containers and plastic bags used will be returned. Just a reminder, the drop-off sites are for Hamilton County residents only.
